Kayaking the waters around Park City is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Destination Sports has been offering kayak tours and kayak rentals for over 15 years. Our one- and two-person inflatable kayaks are easy to master with just a little instruction, and then off you go. If you opt for a kayak tour with us, we will be floating the Weber River. We guarantee a fun and wet time for all. Kayak rentals, tours, and private lessons are available to all persons ages 12 and older.

Take a scenic morning float from historic Echo, Utah, along a completely private stretch that no other outfitters or the public have access to. After lunch, we paddle to Taggert Falls!

If you have kayaked on lakes or oceans before and are comfortable with your ability to take effective and strong paddle strokes, then you’re ready to hit the Weber for a private lesson!
1-person and 2-person inflatable sit-on-top whitewater river kayaks (IK’s) or hard-shell sit-on-top flatwater lake kayaks. Life jackets, paddles and helmets also available.

We offer well-maintained equipment, easy instruction, and a wide variety of kayak tours ranging from half-day to full-day trips. We also offer combo trips that include fly fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, or golf. Guided river kayak trips are appropriate for people with intermediate river kayaking skills or better.
If you do not meet the minimum skills requirement, then a private river kayaking lesson is in order. Our private river kayaking lessons last for one to three hours and will be customized to fit your skill level and expectations.
For safety and comfort during casual river kayaking, we use and recommend inflatable kayaks (a.k.a. I.K.s or duckies) that are whitewater rated. For your selection, we offer a variety of makes and styles of inflatable kayaks, including Aire, Tributary, and Vanguard.
Is river kayaking suitable for young children?
Ages 12 and over are welcome, provided they are accompanied by an adult and have prior river kayaking experience, or they can complete a private lesson with us. Special arrangements can be made for younger children to sit in the front of a tandem kayak with a guide for an additional $100 fee, or with an experienced kayaker in your group. Let’s discuss the details if this is something you want to do.
What should I wear?
Quick drying clothing or a bathing suit, water shoes, and hat.
What should I bring?
Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and change of clothes.
Can I bring a camera? Are there any special considerations?
Yes. Disposable and waterproof is strongly suggested.
Do you provide all equipment?
For tours, we provide inflatable kayak, guide, life vests, paddle, and river shuttle. Lunch is an available option when requested at the time of reservation. For rentals, we provide the inflatable kayak, pump, life vest(s), and helmet.
Is experience necessary?
It is not necessary, but it is strongly recommended. Or, take a lesson, learn well, and feel confident!
Will I get wet?
Yes!
Can I tip over?
Yes, especially if you stop paddling through the challenging sections, or with a little help from your friends. If you tip over, you will fall out of your boat. These are inflatable sit-on-top kayaks, also knowns as duckies or I.K.s.
Can I get back in?
Yes. (Be sure your friends are ready to capture it on their cameras when you do.)
Do we need a reservation?
Yes, you must make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance of your desired river trip date. Adventures on the Weber River are in high demand and space is limited on our expert-guided trips. We strongly suggest that you make a reservation for your group as far in advance as possible to have the best chance of getting your desired date and time.
How do we get back to the car?
A river shuttle is provided for tours and lessons. A shuttle can be purchased for rentals.
Is there a minimum number of people required to book?
Half-day trips and private trips require a minimum of two people. All full-day trips, combo trips, and/or transportation, have a 6-person minimum. Sandwich buffet and barbecue meals have a 12-person minimum.
Is sales tax included in the prices listed on the website?
Utah sales tax is not included in trip pricing.

Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. We will provide this before your activity begins.
