HIKING AROUND PARK CITY, UTAH
This two-hour guided hike can be customized to your liking. We typically hike easy to moderate trails on the Wasatch Mountain Range, in the Park City area. We also know great trails near Salt Lake City, Provo, Ogden, Morgan, Huntsville, and in the Uinta Mountains. Let us know if you have any specific requirements for difficulty level or location.
If hiking in the area where you are staying, then we will include complimentary pick-up from your lodging location.
If you want to hike in the Uinta Mountains, or on trails that are not nearby your lodging, then there will be an additional charge for transportation. Or, you can meet us at the trailhead. We will provide directions when you book.
As autumn turns to winter, and as winter turns to spring, we may switch a hiking plan to snowshoeing, if there is snow on the trails. Likewise, a snowshoeing plan may turn to a hike, if there is no snow.
HIKE FROM PARK CITY TO BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON AND BEYOND
Park City is also a great starting point for hikes into the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains and over to nearby Big Cottonwood Canyon. Whatever hike you want to do, our guides can help you select and organize the perfect outing. Go for something easy that winds through town so you can stop and enjoy a coffee or opt for a more scenic hike with beautiful vistas that give you an excuse to pause and catch your breath. Put yourself to the test with a rigorous hike to the top of one of our local peaks. No matter what your hiking style, we have you covered.
If hiking is your summer activity of choice, Park City offers a huge range of trails and opportunities to get away from it all. Not only are there hundreds of miles of trails weaving through gorgeous aspen groves and across stunning ridgelines, but a lot of it is also lift-served. Yes! No uphill hiking!
When you consider the trails created and maintained around the area, including those at Deer Valley, Brighton, Alta, Sundance, and other resorts, you quickly realize that just about anywhere your heart and feet will take you, a hiking trail will get you there. Prepare to experience inspiring scenery, lush aspen groves, alpine meadows, outstanding vistas, and more.
HIKING TIPS AND ESSENTIALS
Hiking season around Park City runs from mid-April to around the beginning of November. Depending on the season and location of the hike, you will be wise to plan on bringing lightweight hiking boots, layered clothing, a hat, a daypack, a camera, sunscreen, and water. One of the fastest ways to get into trouble in our mountains is to become dehydrated. The temperature may be cool, but you can still lose a half quart per hour. On hot days, make that a full quart.
